Phase 1: Developing Research Questions

This section contains a series of resources that should aid you as you work through the first phase of your project. Engaging with different resources is beneficial - don't rely on individual sources!

Phase 2a: Proposal Development

Please consult the reading list for your Research Methods course. These are some useful resources that should be used in addition to the ones provided there.

Phase 2b: Ethical Approval

You should discuss with your supervisor if you need to apply for ethical approval. Projects involving data collection will need to obtain ethical approval. Some projects utilising secondary data sources may also need to obtain ethical approval.

Phase 3: Doing the Research

This section provides some basic resources useful for this part of your research project. Please see sections towards the end of the list for some recommended resources linked to research method.

Literature Search

This section provides resources for conducting a literature search. Much of this material relates to the full process of systematic reviewing of literature. Projects acceptable on the MPH require slightly less detail than this.

Methodology

Every project requires a methodology section, where you inform the reader about how you conducted your research. This section provides some resources that can help aid you in writing this important part of your project.

This section provides resources for conducting a systematic review.

Secondary Data Analysis

This section contains resources for projects that use secondary data, which refers to existing data sourced from a variety of channels.

This section contains a list of resources for mixed methods research (a combination of quantitative and qualitative research).

Phase 4: Presentations

This section shares some useful resources for your project presentation, which you will deliver in June at the MPH conference.

You may use a template style for your presentation. Some places to find these are listed below.
